Toy Circle
An experimental set of images exploring freeform wordless visual-storytelling, questioning the reception and construction of a narrative through a collection of fragmented events.
The content was inspired from my visual investigations and field-trips to an underpass beneath a nearby motorway roundabout. This disregarded place inspired the story and set the backdrop for the 'graffers', revealing tensions and rivalries between local gangs. The work was made into a small film which experimented with projecting the illustrations back into the physical space itself.
Crossings
Long-listed for the World Illustration Awards 2021.
Over half of the world's refugees are children. Many of them are forced into living lives separated from their families and homes.
This image explores this narrative and aims to investigate my interests in the organisation of visual units. The output demonstrates the use of the inclusive panel as a framing device. There is a suggestion of time in the context of a visual journey presented through the horizontal axis and pictorial placement of the inset panels. The output presents non-sequitur juxtapositions of panels, creating a reading that offers an impression of a place, possibly fragments of memories, and projections of hopes and dreams.
Child Soldier
There are an estimated 250,000 child soldiers in the world today, in at least 20 countries.
Many of these children are traumatised by what they have been forced to do or have witnessed. This work explores the loss of identity, desensitisation to violence and the damaging psychological effects of war.
Migration, Free as a Bird

Part of an exhibition to draw attention to the plight of thousands of children and their families who are, as a result of oppressive regimes, violence or poverty, forced to migrate to safer places in the world.
Day Dreamer
A self directed illustration. Day dreaming in the dark.
The Night Bus
Selected for the London Transport Museum Poster Illustration Prize 2019. Exploring the theme of 'London Stories'.
Against the backdrop of the city and through illuminated windows we glimpse fragments of London's stories. The Night Bus is a constant in a chaotic world, connecting people and moments shared, poignant, celebratory, humorous and surreal.
