- Project: The Night Before Christmas, Written by Clement Clarke Moore

- Purpose: 32 page Picture Book
- Brief: To illustrate Clement Clarke Moore’s Poem, The Night Before Christmas. I used double page, single page, vignette, panel artwork and decorative borders to re-tell the narrative. I tried to contrast the warm interiors against the cold and snowy outdoor scenes. Using vibrant Christmas colours was very important, the reds of Santa’s suit, the greens of the Christmas tree and the blue of the winter night. I tried to add a little humour into the imagery, showing Santa falling down the chimney, getting a little tired and then using a bit of magic to help with delivering the presents. The family cat gets involved too!
