• Project: Tokyo 2020 - Spirit of Competition
  • Commissioned for: University of Joshibi & University of Loughborough
  • Purpose: Work for a collaborative exhibition and symposium in Tokyo, Japan 2018 & London, UK 2019. To create international cultural activity as exchange and co-production with artists from around the world, creating new cultural responses to the Olympic Games. Generate international participation and exchange open to diverse cultures and arts regardless of race and religion. Explore opportunities to research relationships between sport and culture through art and design discourse.
  • Brief: The objectives of this project are to encourage dialogue, debate and discourse. Through the research exhibition and symposium the project will: Draw on and reflect upon the major themes of the Olympic movement. Visualise concepts and communicate thoughts in ways that are surprising, inspiring, inventive, unexpected and transformative, bringing sport and arts into a symbiotic union.
